Democrats Lead Over Republicans Shrinking?

As I have been saying all along, the predictions of a takeover of Congress by Democrats may be too ambitious. Recent polls are showing that the Democrats' lead over Republicans has shrunk. Several individual races show Democrats running neck and neck with Republican opponents.

I have never seen the huge Democrat victory that has been predicted. The best that the Democrats can hope to do is gain control of the House of Representatives, way short of a full takeover of Congress. This will only allow them to block legislation and to hold hearings. It's not likely that the Republican controlled Senate would agree to consider any legislation put forward by a House of Representatives Controlled by Democrats.
